RitmoDB is a collaborative rhythm database that you can play, modify, save and share rhythms with. The tools are based on music theory, thus providing control over: tempo, bar/measure, time signature (number of beats and beat unit), time divisions (steps, triplets), musical note accents, etc.
The number of rhythms stored in our rhythm database is increasing at the time, despite the sounds collection being somewhat limited. We plan to add new sounds soon and even let users upload their own sounds to the sound collection. In the near future, we would like to have a solid classification with verified rhythms from around the world that can serve as a reference for proffesional and amateur musicians, aswell as for other people interested or curious about music and rhythm. Of course, we will still support custom/uncatalogued rhythms that people will be able to store in their own accounts.
This is probably the first and only rhythm database project on the Internet, built off personal needs by music lovers. You can use RitmoDB to learn world rhythms, to share ideas, as accompaniment or beat loop for your musical interpretations or just for the fun!
We provide a drum machine with different implementations for the various browsers available nowadays. Currently, we target mainly PCs due to the sound processing power required to render the rhythms.
Feedback and ideas will be appreciated. In particular, we would like to hear suggestions about how to classify the rhythms, how to spread the word and make this project succeed, how to make it really funny and usefull, what problems/bugs you encounter, etc.
